New Years Eve
We as a family decided to stay home and relax. We could've gone anywhere, but we just wanted to stay home and relax. I'm glad we did that, it was nice.

Popped a Cartilige
I guess baby was getting too big, because I popped a cartilage and it hurt for a few days, but other pains (pregnancy) kind of made it into nothing. At least we got a tour of the hospital before we have baby.

Christmas Day
What can I say other than my kids loved every minute of opening their presents. It was a fun morning! Afterwards at Grandma's house was so much fun as well.

Secret Santa's
If there is one thing worth anticipating for the holidays it is Secret Santa's. It is always nice to guess who had you and it is always nice to have family together to celebrate with. We ended up getting cool stuff this year! But this year was no ordinary secret santa, we were listening to a story that my sister Summer was telling when all of a sudden my niece started choking. that totally scared me to death! It made me think I really need to get CPR certified, seriously, I was nervous enough not being the mom. Whew! I really hope to do that sometime.

Family Pics
Yes, it already is that time of the year again. Family Pictures, the most dreaded, anticipated, exciting time of the year for our family. The pictures turned out great, the only thing was Mason was so sick! So in our pictures he looks like he is about to fall over, poor guy! He had that crupe thing and there was no way of rescheduling, Devin and I are just extremely busy right now and I don't think it will get any easier as the holidays approach. So again, I am not going to give any pics away, but they are cute, and of course I am huge in them, but that's okay, I survived.

Halloween
Halloween was so nice this year or at least it was really simple this year. It was nice that we didn't even have to mess with any makeup this year, so that was nice, plus I've never seen my kids love their costumes half as much as this year. Mason absolutely loves his costume, even though he sweated so bad in it he didn't care. He kept telling trick or treaters that he was Buzz Lightyear, that or he calls himself a Space Ranger. Either way he is so cute. Lizzy on the other hand loves her's as well, I swear since halloween they have tried wearing them every day since just to dress up.
Halloween was also nice for me, because I didn't go trick or treating with my kids, so I went to my Mom's while Devin went out with my dad to help the kids, so that was fun to be able to relax considering I stayed up late carving pumpkins the night before, so it was all good.
Lizzy also had fun at her other parties as well. This Halloween was nice.

Halloween Party
I have really been bad with my blog, but we did you our Annual Halloween/Birthday party this year and it turns out being so much fun. Boy do those kids love it!

Halloween Decorations
During our FHE night we put Halloween stuff. We listened to our scary Halloween tape while putting up decorations. The kids loved it, especially at the end when they got brownies!

Labor day
Labor day weekend was lots of fun for us. We went up to the mountains on Sunday again and had fun enjoying the cloudy, foggy weather. Boy were some campers stuck in their campsites from the previous rain, but it was still so nice. We got back that evening.
On Monday, we decided since Clint moved out of the home on Friday, we decided to get the kid's bedrooms organized getting ready for baby. We even got the crib out, not put together of course, but we at least got it out. We put all of the kids' toys in baby's room for now and I can organize once a day just putting stuff away. You know what I mean. So that was our day.

1st Day of School
Our little Getaway

On Sunday, we decided to getaway to the mountains, we had such a fun time! Even though it was rainy we decided to take the chance anyways to go to woods Canyon Lake, how fun it was! The kid's got to feed the squirrels and play in the rocks and trees, play with bugs(Mason). We even got to see the nice scenery from the rim!
Lizzy accidentally fell in the water though, she had us giggling for a second, but she took it well. We love having Lizzy around!
It's a Boy!
Yes, yes! Yesterday we found out that we are having an adorable baby boy. This is so exciting! My due date hasn't changed much I am due the 13th of January, we are so excited!
4th of July

One of the things our family always looks forward to is the 4th of July. I have to admit in earlier times my kids really hated the fireworks, but like me they have really grown to love them. We went to Stapley pool on the 4th. Lizzy was a little scared to go on the diving boards, but once you do something, it becomes a lot of fun, so much that she wanted to jump off the high dive. The lifeguard told her that she couldn't do it, because she wasn't 8 years old. Later I talked to shelly and she told me I should've lied. Funny! To be honest, I don't know if she wouldv'e done it once at the top, it is pretty high.
In the evening we went to the fireworks at Tempe Town Lake. So much fun! I would go again in a heartbeat, and the commute wasn't that bad, ya the kids were definately worn out since it ended late, but it was still Great!

Swimming Lessons

We also did swim lessons this summer again. It was so much fun! Mason was stubborn his first 3 days, because so far during the Summer, he was used to swimming when he wanted to, but since we had a late session (end of June to the middle of July) he didn't like being told what to do, but after those days he did what the teacher asked, for the most part he was just scared of the deepend and jumping off the diving board. Both of them are improving. Lizzy tried doing backstroke by herself and you know what she really didn't do that bad of a job.
Harkins Kid Movies
Then from there we did the Harkins movie thing this Summer which was so fun for the kids, teaching them movie theatre etiquette, which we had our experiences with. Once, Lizzy kicked the chair in front of her without me realizing till the lady in front told her to stop kicking her. I really felt bad for the lady, she really seemed miffed. I felt so bad, but that's how they learn.
Father's Day
I know I have been very, very bad about blogging over the summer, what can I say the procrastination has been building! This summer has been a very eventful one for our family. These are the things that have been going on.
First we have had our brother in law Clint that has been staying with us for a couple of months, we have also had events like Father's day take place which is always so much fun for our kids.

Feeding the Ducks
I don't know what it is, but my kids love feeding those ducks in our backyard. I now practically consider them our pets. They haven't been around for months, but now they consider us kind of home, because the same 2 ducks come out every afternoon for their snack. It also makes it nice when friends come over as well.

Mason's Big Wheel
For Mason and Lizzy's birthdays we were going to get them big wheels. We were waiting for them to ship in, but in the last minute, we decided that getting Lizzy a big wheel wouldn't encourage her much to ride a bike, so we decided against that. So, instead we got one just for Mason. Mason absolutely loves it! At first all he would do is scoot around in it, but later I taught him how to use the petals. He still has to grow another inch before he can touch the pedals when he does tight turns, but other than that he is a natural pro at it.

Mother's Day
Mother's Day was so much fun! I was definately spoiled by my husband. It was such a nice day to relax and take it easy. Not only that, but to be thankful for our own Mothers as well!

Pat's Run
Yes, I didn't run due to the broken toe, but I sure did walk. And it was so much fun! We saw some old friends we haven't seen in years, it was a total BLAST! Even if walking I would do it again.
Lizzy especially loved it, she ran the 1/2 mile all the way, what can I say she she has it in her blood! Mason, on the other hand didn't do very good on the 1/2 mile. He fell twice so mommy had to carry him while holding Lizzy's hand and running, even though technically I am not supposed to run. But that's okay. I survived!

Lizzy and Mason's Birthdays

I broke my toe!
On friday, I was getting ready for Shantay's reception when Lizzy got my 2 pound weights out of the closet and accidentally dropped one on my toe. Oh my gosh, I have never felt anything that hurt me so bad in my life! And here I was going to go bowling after the reception, darn it. Looks like I'll have to do a raincheck for now!
Easter 2008
Well, it seems that every easter we always miss church. This one was due to that Mason and I were both sick on Saturday Night with the flu of all things, so to make sure the sickness wouldn't spread, we both stayed home. How aweful huh! but on a good note the kids loved their easter baskets from the easter bunny. It ended up being a great day. In the afternoon we went to my parent's for dinner and hid easter eggs again for the kids. I always enjoy easter, it is always so much fun!

Friend time
I had the oppertunity to watch Evienne for a while and it was so much fun! Lizzy and Mason just had a BLAST! Mason, being the boy that he is, was chasing them up and down. It was so funny to see. Mason always likes to be the monster, but I do admit all girls like being chased! Then they were able to play dress up and other games, then we went to the park. I have to admit there hasn't been that nice of a day in who knows.
After the park they were able to settle down for lunch and a movie. Boy were we busy today, but that is what makes it so much fun.

The Zoo
We had such a fun day going to the zoo for the holiday, it was so much fun. It is even better when we have friends to go with to enjoy everything. I am always grateful for my friends. Maybe next time we get together, we can have more of them come! I don't know about you, but my kids just LOVE those animals!

Uncle Norm's Passing
On saturday I had the oppertunity to meet another side of the family that I have only seen once, maybe twice in my lifetime. I know, it can be really grim seeing them at a funeral of an Uncle I never see. But, overall it was really nice to see that side of the family. They seemed like an overall fun gang.

Our Valentine's Date
Devin and I were going to eat out on Valentine's Day, but when the restaurant we picked out was hugely expensive on Valentine's Day and cheap today, so we decided, why not let's go for it. By the way, we went to Anzio Landing(recommended by my brother) It was nice, the food was fine, if anyone you know absolutely loves airplanes this is your place. I thought it was neat!
After dinner, my kind husband let me pick a chick flick movie out. I chose 27 dresses. It was a so, so, kind of movie. It was cute, the ending was a little cheezy, but over all it was pretty good.
I guess it kind of looked sour to me compared to another chick flick we watched when we got home. I know you are thinking what!?! But you see, we have Netflix, and I am very cheap and don't want to lose $$. The movie I rented was 4 hours long and there is no way we can watch anything with our kids around, 1. I would feel I would neglect them and 2. I get angry more, because they would NOT let me watch the show in peace, if you have any suggestions on the matter, please tell me!
Anyways we watched North and South, of which my sister rat and raved about, so for months I have had thoughts on watching this show, so finally I was like, if you don't make time you'll never do it. Needless to say, we started the movie and we were ONLY going to watch 2 hours. Well Devin drank so much Dr. Pepper to stay up, that by the time the 2 hours were done, he was not sleepy at all! So, yes, we watched the rest of it and went to sleep about 3 in the morning. But I must say it was a good flick, yes it is old fashioned, but it whaled all over 27 dresses.

Valentine's Day
Valentine's Day was so much fun! We made treats, making valentines and passing them out. It takes lots of work and patience, but to me it is well worth it! And it just made my kids so happy to go to their friend's houses.

The Zoo
Devin the kids, and I had fun at the zoo on Saturday, although the parking seemed like a zoo. It was lots of fun! I don't know why, but I was kind of on the lazy side and wanted to take the train, so I did. The kids liked it up until it stopped and slowed down a couple of times, then they were a little impatient, but other than that it was great!

A week of Sickness
Yes, the last 1 1/2 weeks have probably been the worst ever. It started with Mason having fevers for 4 days, then we were all finally well on Sunday, then Lizzy got sick with the fever on Monday. I took her to the doctors he said she tested negative for Strep. I started having a sore throat on Sunday and by Tuesday was in complete pain. I went to the doctor who told me I had Strep Throat, knowing smart me I should have called Lizzy's pediatrician back, but didn't by Thursday the doctor said she had Strep Throat. I started bleeding once I took the antibiotics, by Saturday the baby was dead and I misscarried.
I am doing fine now, so no worries!

Christmas Day
Christmas day is always a nice day to eat (of course), relax and maybe nap, or as another tradition go to the movies after the "feast" and have fun, having fun with our new gifts. Devin was so excited about christmas he woke me up around 7:15. At this time I had morning sickness, so lots of fun was awaiting. Lizzy woke up on her own, but Devin was so excited about Mason that he woke him up. Bad idea. Mason was a grouch for about 30 minutes to 1 hour. Then Mason threw up and was fine the rest of the time. And what is christmas without See's?! So we popped open a new box of See's, boy did the kids love that! That night we went and saw National Treasure 2 with my family. That was a pretty good movie.
Christmas Eve -- Secert Santas!
Well this is also a very fun Aston tradition we usually have as well! it is always so much fun to see what someone gets you, and who it is. This year Devin and I had B and Cole, Lizzy had Stacey, and Mason had Caryn. David and Amber had Devin and I, Anslie had Lizzy and Cole and Brittany had Mason. This is always so much fun!

The Aston Christmas Party

On Friday, we had our annual Christmas Party!
This is probably the only time I get to see all my cousins, Aunts, and Uncles all in the same room. Especially after the death of my Uncle it made this years reunion more special. Also the turn out was alot better as well. I am always happy to see family!
